KENTUCKY HAS DECRIMINALIZED MARIJUANA AND HAVE MADE IT SO THERE IS NO PENALTY FOR AN OUNCE OF WEED OR LESS IF THE CHARGE IS IN LOUISVILLE OR JEFFERSON COUNTY. BUT IT IS STILL VERY MUCH ILLEGAL IN KENTUCKY. I WANTED TO UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE TWO STATES, AND WHAT CHARGES YOU COULD SERVE BASED ON YOUR LOCATION. The state planned to issue 75 licenses before May of last year. But the Pritzker administration delayed the process, citing the pandemic. Last September, 21 social equity applicants were added to the lottery for the 75 licenses. " today, i was able to find 18 companies with their CEO’s and their corresponding photos online. Of the 18 dispensaries listed, only one black woman is working as a CEO in the cannabis industry at dispensary33. in comparison, the American Civil liberties union found in a new study that black people are 7 times more likely to be arrested for marijuana possession than white people in Illinois. if the initiative were effective, the results in this Infographic would look a lot different. minorities affected by the war on drugs continue to reapply to the lottery.
